Tara Nair

 At the age of 5, under the guidance of Smt. Purvi Bhatt, Tara set on the path of discovery and growth. She tried ballet and tap as well, but Kathak drew her like none other. She has been fortunate to attend workshops with renowned artists like Guru Pta Maneesha Sathe and Pta Shambhavi Dandekar, to experience the deliverance of excellence through dedication of the finest artists. In parallel, Tara has been learning Hindustani Vocal music and the two together have helped her delve deeper into this rich heritage of India. She has been performing Kathak at various venues in the DC metro area for the last 4 years and helps out as an assistant dance instructor. Tara completed her Sangeet Vishaarad in Kathak this summer. Apart from dance, Tara has spent several years learning the Korean martial art of Taekwondo and is a 2nd degree black belt. An NHS scholar, she was a member of Oakton Robotics and is a new graduate of Oakton High School. Tara will start her engineering program at Virginia Tech this fall, in pursuit of her interest in Robotics and AI with the intention of continuing dance & music through years to come.
